The government has once again written to businesses urging them to prepare for the impact of a no deal Brexit.

This government has written to VAT-registered companies several times informing them of what they need to do should the UK leave the European Union without a deal.

The latest letter, sent to businesses trading with countries outside the EU or with the EU and the rest of the world, follows a report in which ministers admitted that small businesses are generally not prepared for a no deal Brexit despite communication from government.

The latest letter, posted in full below, opens with "urgent action required" and says that the advice is important even if businesses don't currently trade with the EU as they may "need to adapt...systems and processes".

Although the letters have only been sent to VAT-registered businesses, the advice is worth reading even if your business isn't VAT registered.
