Today, based on 500+ responses to a survey on how ready you feel for the reopening, Enterprise Nation is launching a three-month campaign - Hello, World - to deliver not only the content you asked for to make the most of the British economy recovering "like a coiled spring", but also offering a direct route to market in the form of the opportunity to say hello to the world from a shop on Oxford Street, London.

Here's what you can expect from the campaign:

Content

Starting tomorrow with a post on how you can build experiences into your business as a new revenue line, and continuing until 1 June, a new content series will offer advice on the legalities around refunds, raising money to buy new stock/equipment, and how to now pivot back to the physical world.

Events

We'll be hosting new events with entrepreneurs who'll reveal their re-opening plans, and experts who'll share their tips on everything from legal to sales, retail and packaging.

A shop!

Online sellers who have sold well over the past year have told us they now want to meet their customers and test physical retail. You can do this through a partnership we have formed with Sook to take occupation of 58 Oxford Street for the month of May. If you would like to rent this space for a day to say hello to the world, simply complete this form.

The Hello, World campaign would not be possible without sponsorship from SumUp. You will be hearing more about how they can help you reopen during the campaign.

As we reported last week, UK households will have an expected £250bn in household savings by June. We expect consumers will want to return to their high street and local communities and spend these funds with new businesses or with businesses that have kept them going in the past year.

After a year of indoor and online shopping and entertainment, customers will want experiences and to experiment. This campaign is fully focused on helping you get geared up to deliver on that demand.

Please let us know what more you would like to see from this campaign by emailing me.

Following a degree in Law and Japanese, Emma joined international accounting firm Arthur Andersen, where she worked in London, Leeds and Manchester offices and set up the firm's Inward Investment practice that attracted overseas companies to locate in the UK. In 2000, bitten by the dot.com bug, Emma left the firm to start her first business, Techlocate. After 15 months, the company was successfully sold to Tenon plc. The experience of starting, growing and selling a business from a home base gave Emma the idea for Enterprise Nation which was launched in 2006 as the home business website. The company has since expanded to become a small business membership community of over 75,000 people who benefit from events and support: online and in person. Enterprise Nation also presents a campaigning voice to government and the media on behalf of its members. In 2021, Emma was awarded a CBE for services to small businesses and entrepreneurs.
