Enterprise Nation launches new finance programme in Ireland

Posted: Thu 9th Jun 2022

Enterprise Nation Ireland has launched Access to Finance, a new programme aimed at supporting 30,000 small businesses to better understand and navigate the world of finance and funding.

Backed by a range of organisations in the finance sector – including the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI), the Banking and Payments Federation of Ireland (BPFI), Sage (accounting and payroll software partner), and the three major Irish banks: Bank of Ireland, AIB and permanent tsb – the small business networking platform will run the programme over 12 months.

The first of its kind in Ireland, Access to Finance will address the full lifecycle of a business, from the very earliest start-up loans and local enterprise funding, up to venture capital and all financing options in between.   Critically, it will guide founders through why, when and how to raise funds at each juncture of the business.

Launched at Enterprise Nation’s Show Me the Money event in Dublin, the new programme will have a dedicated Access to Finance Hub on the Enterprise Nation platform. The hub will act as a one-stop-shop for founders to find all the resources they need when it comes to managing finances and accessing funding.

A need for funding advice

According to Enterprise Nation – whose platform is visited by over 50,000 small business owners every month – 49% of small businesses selected “finance” as their number-one support requirement in 2021.

The Enterprise Nation Quarterly Barometer showed that 63% of Irish founders plan on seeking finance and accounting services in 2022.

Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation, said:

"Money management and access to finance is one of the key areas in which small businesses constantly request support. Founders want to know how and when to raise money, who can help with the process, and which funding option to select.

"Access to Finance is designed to not only demystify the process but to help educate, support and guide businesses on the right type of funding for them. We're delighted to have the support of so many of the key players in finance in Ireland."
