More than four million people now work from home, up by more than 800,000 since 2005, and that includes Britain's hundreds of thousands brilliant home-based small businesses and Enterprise Nation members.

The statistics from the Trades Union Congress were released to mark today's National Working from Home Day.

The TUC's analysis of unpublished government data shows that the number of regular homeworkers has increased by 800,601 over the last 10 years to reach 4,218,699.
