Recovery Advice for Business

The Professional and Business Services Sector and Enterprise Nation, supported by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, have teamed up to offer small and medium sized businesses free advice to help them recover from the impact of Coronavirus. This offer will be available until 31st December 2020.

Professional bodies and trade associations are mobilising experts in their sector to offer free calls on topics from accounting to advertising, HR and legal affairs.

Enterprise Nation is providing free access to the platform, until 31st December 2020, to enable small and medium sized businesses in need of advice and support to connect with business advisers offering to help.

The Recovery Advice for Business scheme is being supported by the Professional and Business Services (PBS) Sector. A number of professional bodies and trade associations across a range of PBS Sectors are encouraging their members to sign up and offer free advice, these include: the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the Advertising Association, the Law Society and the Management Consultancies Association. You can find a full list of participating bodies above.
Once you have registered with Enterprise Nation, you will be sent a link to complete the ‘Make a Plan’ diagnostic tool. This tool asks a series of questions and, based on how you answer them, will provide a set of clear recommendations and an action plan. Your plan will include links to business advisers and recommended content which you can filter further based on your specific needs, the sector you are operating in and your location. You can connect with these advisers through the Enterprise Nation platform, where you can arrange a time to talk and benefit from the free support on offer. If you're already a small business member of Enterprise Nation, you can find Make A Plan through your dashboard. You must log in first to access the tool. Small businesses can access the free advice calls with advisers who are participating in the programme. Each call is free and can last up to 1 hour for each relevant adviser. They provide a great way to ask questions and understand the steps you can take to help your business to recover and grow.
There is no limit on the number advisers that you speak to but each adviser is only committed to providing one hour of free advice per business. You can get advice from different advisers on a range of different areas. .
Advisers who can support you on issues such as HR, legal affairs, advertising, and accounting. The advisers are all members of professional bodies and trade associations across a range of relevant services sectors.
That’s up to you! Calls where you can offer some information in advance on what you’d like to know may deliver better results. Simply upload this information when you click on ‘request call’ with an adviser or once connected, ask what information may be beneficial.
The free call should provide you with actions and helpful resources which you should be able to apply straightaway. There is no obligation to do anything after the call but if you do want ongoing advice and you feel you have found the right adviser, you are free to continue the relationship on your own terms. If you do this, you will need to negotiate the cost of any ongoing support directly with the adviser.
The programme is running for six months; until 31st December 2020.

Business Wales, has teamed up with Enterprise Nation, to deliver free support and advice to SMEs recovering from the effects of the Covid-19 outbreak. For Welsh SME businesses, there will be an option to be matched with the most appropriate Business Wales adviser, who are ready and waiting to offer a free telephone appointment, followed by the development of an action plan and referrals to further advice and support if needed.
