The UK’s biggest and most-loved start-up event is back for 2024 and jam-packed with inspiration and tips to help thousands of entrepreneurs launch their own business next year.

The Enterprise Nation StartUp Show was first launched in 2015 to support the growing number of entrepreneurs starting businesses in the UK. Since then, the annual show has scaled, and it now sees more than 2,000 individuals over 11 stages in a single day.

The event, in partnership with Monzo Business, British telecommunications leader Vodafone UK, TikTok and GS1 UK, will take over the wartime home of the BBC - Bush House, now part of King's College – in central London, making use of every inch of its historic architecture on Saturday 27 January.

According to Google Trends, more than 100,000 people in the UK searched for ‘tips to start a business’ in January 2023 – the highest number on record – following a five year upward trajectory.

The booming appetite to start is also reflected in the number of businesses registered at Companies House. In 2023, this number is on track to be the highest ever – with more than half a million registered in the first half of the year alone.

Emma Jones, CBE, founder and CEO of small business support platform and membership community Enterprise Nation, said:

"Britain is a truly entrepreneurial country. As many of us stick to the usual new year’s resolutions to eat less, drink less and get fit, a good 30 per cent of us now will be making plans to start a business next year.

"Over the 10 years we’ve been running this show, we’ve seen attendance volumes grow as more would-be entrepreneurs find themselves hungry to learn new skills and inspiration from others.

"As start-up figures continue to rocket, the show has got bigger and bigger - and we now have 11 stages that help entrepreneurs understand how everything from technology and AI to basic email marketing lists that are going to get them to where they want to be.

"Starting a business is one of the biggest journeys you can go on, from a personal and professional perspective. It’s also a journey with many twists and turns.

"This is an event for everyone who has ever dreamed of being their own boss – but also for the side-hustlers and the self-employed who want to take control of their own professional and financial destiny."

The event is accompanied StartUp UK, an ongoing programme of free advice and e-learning developed by Enterprise Nation and funded by Monzo Business.

The event will be held at King's College London, Bush House, 30 Aldwych, London, WC2B 4BG on Saturday, 27 January 2024, from 9:00am to 4:15pm.
