What is your favourite business book and why?
Purple Cow by Seth Godin.
An old boss of mine made me read it when I moved from sales to sales and marketing and it really got me interested in marketing and how to make yourself stand out (be a purple cow).
I've read all his books now and follow his blog. It's very useful stuff.
Who is your business hero and why?
The same boss as above.
He managed to start an adventure travel firm that encompassed a charity with zero costs. Any donations to benefit remote communities in Africa were 100% gifts with the costs covered by the main business.
I'm so proud to have worked for him. The company is Camps International.
Describe your business in a tweet.
Business storytelling using video and animation to create compelling visuals that will change the audience's perception of your brand.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Finding the new business to keep the taps flowing and the money coming in.
What has been your greatest success?
Coming up with the concept of smartphone training that allows us to get in front of business audiences for free and win business by educating our prospects.
What piece of advice do you wish you had known when starting out?
Never slow down, keep up the pace so the hard times are covered.
Why do you consider long-term strategic advice important to business success?
Very important indeed. After a year we are only just coming up with ideas that will see us through the lean summer months next year and on into the future.
