Ahead of this week's event, we get to know Jodie a bit better.

Company name:  JC Social Media

**Twitter: ** cookiewhirls

Year company founded: 2011

What is your favourite business book and why?

I have just finished reading Essentialism: The disciplined pursuit of less by Greg McKeown and enjoyed its simple approach to focusing on the few rather than the many, in order to achieve success, whatever your personal version of success looks like.

Who is your business hero?

I have many business heroes whom I take inspiration from, but one that stands out is Arianna Huffington. She describes herself as a flat-shoe advocate and sleep evangelist, whilst also being very successful in business.

Describe your business in a tweet.

Social media management & training to local and global clients. We work together with our clients to grow their business over social media.

What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge is that I am ridiculously impatient; with results, with people and with myself.

What has been your greatest success?

In 2014 I won Birmingham Young Professional of the Year which marked the end of my first three years running my own business and the start of many more great things.

What piece of advice do you wish you had known when starting out?

There isn't anything I wish I'd have known at the start, because I think my naivety about business that led to enthusiasm and positivity about everything I was doing is what helped me win clients and progress the company to where it is today. Learning on the job helped me work out the best way to do things the JC Social Media way.

Why do you consider long-term strategic advice important to business success?

Long-term strategic advice is useful for business success because getting ideas from people who have been there and done it can't hurt! As long as there is still an assessment process involved, e.g. 'will this be right for my own business, and if so, then why?', then it can help speed up growth.

If you had a superpower what would it be and why?

The ability to read minds!
