Former business owner and MP Paul Uppal has been appointed by the government as the UK's first small business commissioner. From an independent office in Birmingham, he will help small businesses tackle late payment of invoices, resolve disputes with larger businesses, highlight resources that can help and work on driving a culture change in the UK's payment practices.
In a revealing interview, one of his first in the job, on Enterprise Nation TV with O2 Business, Uppal discusses his background as a business owner and how he'd like the role of small business commissioner to stretch beyond just late payment.
He also responds to questions submitted by Enterprise Nation members Paul Durrant from PDT Sales Consultancy and Alan Jones from Prif.
