The day the UK went start-up crazy: This week on Enterprise Nation

Posted: Sun 17th Jan 2016
Head of content Dan Martin looks back at the past week on Enterprise Nation.
There is only one thing I can write about this week as StartUp 2016, our UK-wide entrepreneurial extravaganza finally took place!
Thousands of new entrepreneurs attended events as far south as Horsham and as far north as Barnsley to make connections, get inspired and receive expert advice.
I was at the main event in London's Canary Wharf and what a day it was. Around 2,000 attendees came through the doors to absorb four speaker stages and five more areas that were simply oozing entrepreneurial insights.
I spent most of my day hosting the Connection Stairway where hundreds filled all spaces available to listen to top journalists, retailer buyers and technology experts.
Being in one area for most of the day it was hard to know what was going on elsewhere but when my sessions finished I was delighted to see that the #StartUp2016 hashtag trended on Twitter for more than six hours and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
We receive a message this morning from a Canary Wharf attendee who said: "I wanted to take the time to thank you from the bottom of my heart for organising such an amazing event. You literally changed my life." That's what we like to hear!
If you came to one of our events, followed through social media or watched the live stream, we hope we helped you start and grow your new business.
Thankyou to all attendees, Enterprise Nation Champions, staff, volunteers and sponsors.
