In our regular Sunday updates, head of content Dan Martin looks back at the past week on Enterprise Nation.

Jeremy CorbynWhether you agree with Jeremy Corbyn or not, he has certainly got people talking.

When we put a call out for small business owners' reaction to the appointment of the new Labour leader the responses could not have been more mixed. "The election of Jeremy Corbyn and his appointments of people who firmly believe in equality is very good news", said one. "Corbyn is potentially very damaging to UK small businesses", said another_._

The reaction was equally split when more comments and tweets flooded in after we put the post in the top slot of this week's newsletter (sign up below if you're not already a subscriber). It's highly likely that the article will be one of our most popular blog posts of the year.

Away from politics, it was a very big week for Enterprise Nation events this week.

We had a highly engaged audience at our advice-packed evening in association with PayPal that focused on how to successfully sell online to Chinese consumers. We were also delighted to see many of the business owners who will be joining us on our mission to China next month.

On Thursday around 230 business owners joined us for the Fashion Exchange. It was a brilliant day with some excellent speakers including buyers from John Lewis and House of Fraser. Replay our live blog from the day here.

A rather unexpected highlight was the moment a member of the audience walked up to the stage and presented Caggie Dunlop, star of Made in Chelsea and co-founder of ISWAI, with a ring. I'm sure, like me, the entire audience thought he was going to propose marriage, but it turned out that the ring was actually one of his products! Top marks to the founder of ethical jewellery company Vurchoo for seizing that opportunity!

Our business support on the high street tour arrived in Manchester this week. Thanks to all the advisers who gave advice and the entrepreneurs who popped in to get it.

On Monday (21 September) the initiative arrives in the Borough of Wandsworth in London. We'll be setting up an advice hub at a different library every day so take advantage by registering here.

If you're an Enterprise Nation member you'll know all about our member only online video masterclasses. We run them every Tuesday with one of our experts from the Enterprise Nation Marketplace. This week was a very interesting discussion on how to delegate. You can replay it here. Just make sure you're logged into your Enterprise Nation account before clicking on the link.

The next masterclass, on Tuesday 22 September at 12.30pm, looks at how to get your business in the press. Log into your account and register here.

The masterclasses are one of many member benefits so if you're not yet fully part of the Enterprise Nation community, you can join for only £30 a year (or £50 if you're a business adviser). Sign up on this page.
