Spark Crowdfunding to attend Show Me the Money

Spark Crowdfunding will be attending Enterprise Nation’s Show Me the Money event in Dublin next month.

Co-founder and CEO of Spark Crowdfunding Chris Burge takes us thorough what to expect on the night.

What is Spark Crowdfunding?

Spark Crowdfunding is a platform that helps equity finance, for young companies, and perhaps even not so young companies, from a whole host of investors that are investing small and medium amounts into these companies.

Having said that, we've got some very big, high net worth start-ups on our database as well. Sometimes those investments can be multiple tens, or even multiple hundreds of thousands. Our single biggest investment to date has been an investment of €200,000 by one individual.

What are you expecting to get from the Show Me the Money event?

Really, it’s just to promote the Spark name to people who perhaps haven't heard of us before. There'll be a lot of investors and there'll be a lot of investees there and both of those are our target market, of course.

Hopefully there'll be some investees and some investors that want to sign up with us.

What advice do you have for start-ups coming to the event?

They should be asking me, and us as Spark as to how they get onto the platform and what are the mechanisms by which they are accepted onto the platform?

And also, what do they need to demonstrate to investors in order to get onto the platform? They need to show that they have a good team behind them that they've got an element of USP (unique selling point).

And they need to demonstrate they have a scalable business – probably even internationally scalable in order to generate enough interest in the investor pool that we have.
