At adviser meet-ups in London and Birmingham, the question was asked 'how do I go about raising my profile on the marketplace so small businesses looking for advisers, find me?' - in response, here are six actions you can take today!

Polished profile

When people land on your profile, you want them to be impressed at first sight. Include a company profile that clearly sets out your specialisms, type of client, and style of work. Include an address and quality logo and use the tag feature so you appear in results when businesses are searching for the category of advice they're after.

Attract traffic

Direct people to your profile by including the direct link on promotion materials, in communications, on your email signature or flyers. You also receive a company number once your profile has been approved and this is another way for potential clients to search for you on the marketplace. Make the most of the resources section which has logos, press releases and templates to give you the tools to promote the project in general - whilst highlighting a link to your personal profile.

Invite reviews

With business owners finding and engaging with you, ask them to leave a review if they were happy with the service and advice received. Advisers with the most positive review float to the top in the search results so the better the reviews, the better the result!

Submit content

To stand out on the marketplace blog, please submit content to Enterprise Nation so you can be seen on a post that will include a direct link to your profile. Adviser, Frank Vittori shows how it's done. Content should be top tips for the category of advice you offer, or case studies of businesses you have met and helped via the marketplace.

Enter Awards

And finally, consider entering The UK's Top 50 Advisers competition as 50 of the best will be selected and profiled across the marketplace and Enterprise Nation in November and beyond.

Take these steps, join the adviser LinkedIn group to share the results, and you will soon be discovered and securing new contacts and contracts via the Enterprise Nation marketplace.
