Alex MolokwuWhat was your motivation to start your own business?

I used many co-working offices for meetings and seminars. I felt lonely and isolated at a few I used and then began looking into how to improve on the current trend of co-working and hot desking offices. I spent one year researching locations and viewed over 200 properties. In co-working offices you meet so many driven, focused and interesting people.

Whilst you were starting up how did you balance home life with work?

I probably find this part of life the hardest to get right. I love to work. In fact I don't see it as work a lot of the time because I am very sociable. My company is still very young so I don't might putting in the hours.

What is your top tip for effective sales and marketing?

Don't be scared to go outside your comfort zone and try new things. I used to find face-to-face sales a little scary but now it is fine.

Which tools could you not live without in your business?

My iPhone. I am always on the move. My co-working office is massive so I also tell people to call me on it and don't bother with reception.

Central Meeting RoomWhat movie, song or book offers you the most business inspiration and why?

Never let you go by Rudimental. I used to over play it when I jog but for some unknown reason I can run faster and push myself harder when I hear it. Sometimes in the office I put it on when my energy levels are lowering. Even when I hear it in a bar or club its still moves me and gives me goosebumps.

What has been your biggest business success to date?

My biggest success was starting Co Work Hub and finding the right office space in North Acton.

If you had to live on a desert island with one entrepreneur who would it be and why?

It would have to be my cousin Kayode. He is so funny and such a character, I wouldn't be bored. It would be such a laugh. He is always coming up with new business ideas.

What are your ambitions for the next five years?

I would love to buy a commercial office and not lease a building. My realistic aim is to build up enough reserves to open another two offices.

How does being a member of Enterprise Nation help your business grow?

Being a member allows me to go to some many interesting events and network with individuals who are going through the same thing.
