Me and My Van: Pudding Stop - Plus, win a makeover for your company van!

Posted: Mon 15th Jul 2013
How important is your van to your business? That's what we're asking over the next four months as we profile small businesses with vans and look at how they use their vehicles to 'drive' their business forward.
Me and My Van is also offering you the opportunity to win a makeover for your company van, courtesy of AXA Business Insurance and Easisigns. The winning entrant will also earn a video profile to feature on both Enterprise Nation and AXA's YouTube channel. To enter, just fill out the form below our our profile of The Pudding Stop below.
Me and My Van: Johnny Shepherd of The Pudding Stop
Q. Please tell us a little bit about your business.
Johnny: "I started the business in August 2010. I started by selling puddings on a market stall, then supplying restaurants and cafes, grew to a pudding van and now I'm opening a pudding restaurant this summer."
Q. Now tell us a little bit about your van! For example, what make and model is it? And have you given it a name?
Johnny: "It's called the Pudmobile. The owner of The Watermill, where I currently rent a bakery, gave it the name because it's a bit like the Pope's Popemobile, and Charles Campion called it a "shrine to pudding". It's an Aixam Mega Van."
Q. How do you use your van in your business?
Johnny: "It's mobile marketing and advertising. Although at the moment it's at the train station every weeknight evening at set times. When the shop opens, the Pudmobile will also be positioned in St Albans town centre during the day. The plan for next year is to get a second Pudmobile for another train station, which is slightly bigger and can go also to festivals and food events."
Q. How did your business change when you bought your van?
Johnny: "It means you can go anywhere you want and everything is contained within one vehicle."
Q. If your van is branded, what kind of feedback have you received from it? Has it won you new business?
Johnny: "My customers love the Pudmobile and it always draws people's attention when driving around."
