In the corridors of power: This week on Enterprise Nation

Head of content Dan Martin looks back at the past week on Enterprise Nation.
The first working week of the New Year is a quiet one for many, but not Enterprise Nation. We kicked off 2016 with a visit to Downing Street!
We took a group of entrepreneurs from the South West to Number 10 to meet Daniel Korski, policy adviser to prime minister David Cameron. As we continue our campaigning to ensure the voices of small business owners are heard in the corridors of power, it was a great meeting and several subjects and concerns were raised. You can find out which entrepreneurs joined us and what was discussed here.
Huge thanks to @DanielKorski for meeting with and hearing from small businesses of South West. #enterprise pic.twitter.com/Gr9GlNKo99

Another campaign for small companies is Micro Business Matters Day and we were happy to take part on Friday. Our founder Emma Jones was part of a very entertaining eight hour online broadcast featuring lots of micro business owners. Anything that puts micro businesses in the headlines is good in our opinion!
2016 is a massive year for Enterprise Nation and it really all begins at the huge StartUp 2016 on Saturday 16 January.
We've been making the final preparations this week and we're looking forward to welcoming thousands of new business owners to one of 10 events on the same day! We confirmed the full jam-packed agenda for the main event in Canary Wharf so if you managed to get a ticket for the sold out event you're in for a real treat!
If you didn't manage to register for Canary Wharf, don't worry because there are still tickets available for the other events across the country, many of which will be live streaming the keynotes from the main event in London. Choose your location and book your free ticket here.
Our year-long partnership with O2 Business began this week including the company's support of Enterprise Nation TV, our online channel packed with entrepreneurial tips and inspiration. We're publishing one video every week day this year and we kicked off with some corkers. Watch them all and lots more on Enterprise Nation TV.
Our most popular blog post this week was easy to spot. The 2016 edition of the top small business journalists to follow on Twitter spread far and wide. Thanks to the 200+ people who followed me a result :)
If that's a quiet week, I can't wait for a busy one! Happy New Year!
