For us social media addicts, it's hard to imagine a world without Twitter, but before this day 10 years ago the social network wasn't publicly available. Fast forward a decade and the site is used by thousands of small business owners and entrepreneurs.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Twitter's public launch on 15 July 2006, see below for 10 first tweets from famous entrepreneurs.

Dragons' Den star Deborah Meaden once told Dan Martin, our head of content, that she wouldn't ever tweet. She gave in though on 3 October 2011 and her first tweet was, appropriately, a reply to her former Den colleague Theo Paphitis.

One of Britain's internet pioneers, Lastminute.com founder Martha Lane Fox ironically joined Twitter with a post about books of the printed variety.
