Enterprise Nation has formed a partnership with social networking giant Facebook to support the UK's small businesses. The partnership will be based around an ebook toolkit produced by Enterprise Nation which will help UK businesses use Facebook to engage with customers and grow their business.
Facebook has also announced that it will be running a series of 'Facebook for Business' roadshows across the UK over the next six months with the British Chambers of Commerce. The roadshows will focus on showing businesses how to set up and maintain a Facebook page and how to make the most of Facebook advertising. To boost the use of its advertising platform, Facebook will be making £4.2 million of advertising credits to available to small businesses across Europe, in bundles worth more than £80 per business. The promotions are tied in with a new report from Deloitte showing that Facebook has had an economic impact of €15.3 billion (£12.7bn) and created 232,000 jobs across the European Union. According to the report, in the UK alone Facebook has contributed almost £2.2bn to the UK economy and supported 32,500 jobs. The 'app economy' is worth nearly £1.2bn to the UK and 'business participation' on the Facebook platform is worth £1.16bn and 18,000 jobs to the UK. Business particpation is measured as a combination of paid advertising, customer referrals and brand value. "We are delighted to be working with Facebook to make this toolkit available for anyone who is starting and growing a business," said Enterprise Nation's founder Emma Jones. "Facebook is a powerful platform that enables you to raise profile, engage with customers and increase sales, both in the UK and further afield. The toolkit has been created as an essential guide, offering the tips and techniques you need to successfully harness the power of Facebook in your own business."
