Enterprise Nation is leading the way in helping co-working space operators build entrepreneurial communities through its tech platform.

The small business support network, which partnered with the Business Centre Association (BCA) earlier this year, held an induction day for UBCUK at its latest co-working location in Solihull, explaining how data can deliver diverse and cohesive collaboration.

Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation, said: "Using data to understand the individual and broader community needs, and then mirroring that in your co-working offering is vital. Keeping it creative and constantly flowing, means you can build an eco-system that supports a wide variety of industries, sectors and creative individuals, helping to drive them towards collaboration and success.

"Today's co-working spaces often curate communities, building the right productive atmosphere to generate success. That involves using data to identify those that would benefit - and contribute most - to a well-designed entrepreneurial environment.

"That might mean ensuring a mix of industries, advisers and angel investors all under the same roof as part of one enterprising community. Co-working spaces and business centres are no longer simply a place to put your laptop and buy a nice coffee.  Their benefit also lies in the community and the collaboration that might bring."

UBCUK has just launched its first collaborative space in Brentford, West London.  The space offers casual co-working opportunities, expansion space, meeting rooms and larger spaces and unit for already-established firms looking for broad collaboration.

Jane Erasmus, UBCUK's director of sales & marketing said: "In starting to build effective collaborative community in Brentford, we felt an important first step was to collaborate with Enterprise Nation, and to take insight from their data and experience which we can use to build and engage entrepreneurs who are often taking their first steps into building a business and for whom the decision to use our spaces will be an important one."
