Today Britain smashed its half a million startup milestone - a month earlier than last year!
It means the UK is on target for yet another record-breaking year for new businesses - with people registering firms at the rate of more than 1,450 a day for the first time ever.
The figures come direct from national enterprise campaign StartUp Britain's Daily tracker, an online tool which reveals the number of businesses registered with Companies House on a daily, monthly and yearly basis.
And the news is also delivered in the light of our own Home Business Report, out last month, which showed one in ten British homes are now a base for a business with 2.9m homepreneurs busy contributing more than £300bn to the British economy and £40bn in their own locality.
They are happy, more satisfied and they don't have to doff their cap on the way into the office. They have taken control.
But what this shows more than anything else is that, well, we're there. We did it. The start-up culture has well and truly taken hold. Everyone knows they can start a business if they want to. They are empowered, they are energised and THEY LOVE IT!
November 17 marks the beginning of Global Entrepreneurship Week, when we'll all be doing our bit to help Britain's growing entrepreneurial community to take their ideas to the next level.
