Opinion is divided.
The VAT threshold - currently set at £85,000 in annual turnover - is a hotly debated issue amongst small business owners and policymakers. Those in favour of raising the threshold argue it would reduce the administrative burden on microbusinesses who would otherwise need to register, collect, and submit VAT to HMRC.
Those in favour of lowering the threshold say it levels the playing field for small firms competing with larger VAT-registered businesses and argue that raising the threshold would shift the problem to larger companies.
Ahead of the March Budget, we feel this is the time to debate the point; to hear respective sides and views and discuss how reform of the VAT threshold can deliver prosperity.
Join us for this online event to hear the arguments and share your view and vote as to which direction you would like to see the threshold move.
