Enterprise Nation invites you to Next Gen Fest: A free one-day festival for aspiring entrepreneurs aged 18-30

Taking place on Thursday 26 May at St Mary's Venue, Next Gen Fest will be filled with talks from inspiring entrepreneurs and business experts who will share their stories and top tips for running your own business, live entertainment and refreshments.

Whether you're already a business owner or interested in the idea of becoming your own boss, join Next Gen Fest to hear from inspirational entrepreneurs and soak up the festival vibes with like-minded peers.


What to expect

10am: Welcome to Next Gen Fest

Meet your host for the day – Bethan Aspland. Bethan founded Pretty in Paper By B in 2020 when she was sharing her creativity on social media and people were asking how they could share her passion for iris folding. Bethan turned her passion into a business, launching a variety of products and is growing the business with her impressive social media following. Bethan will highlight her journey, share her learnings and welcome you to the event.

10.30am: ‘How I made my first million at 16’ with Ratchet Clothing Company founder Dhillan Bhardwaj

At 16 years old, Dhillan Bhardwaj dropped out of college to start a unique and affordable unisex clothing brand Ratchet Clothing Company. The brand has since been worn by Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Drake, Rihanna and more. Dhillan joins Next Gen Fest to share how he went from washing cars at his uncle’s garage for £1 a car, to making his first million at 16.

11am: How to grow your brand on social media, with the brains behind the world record egg

In 2019, World Record Egg dethroned Kylie Jenner as the account holder with the most-liked post on Instagram. Alissa Khan-Whelan was the brains behind the world record egg and has since founded brand and communications consultancy Happy Yolk. Alissa will deliver a workshop on how to grow your brand on social media and share how she managed to get the most-liked photo on Instagram.

12pm: Lunch break

Enjoy a free lunch served at the venue, with a live DJ set and networking with other aspiring entrepreneurs.

1pm: How to be your own boss and succeed, with Simon Squibb

Simon Squibb is an entrepreneur, angel investor, mentor, podcast host, founder and Chief Purpose Officer at The Purposeful Project. He has started 19 companies, invested in 73 startups and mentored hundreds of founders. Having sold his award-winning branding and digital agency, Fluid, to PwC, Simon now focuses on inspiring, motivating and guiding both budding and experienced entrepreneurs by sharing his personal experiences, insights, ideas and tips. His mission today is to help 10,000,000 people start and grow a business of their own and he has amassed 450k followers on TikTok. Simon will share his inspiring story and top tips for succeeding as your own boss.

1.30pm: ‘How I created an award-winning app’

Areeb Siddiqui is the founder of Kestrl – an award-winning app that makes it easy for Muslims to budget, save and invest in line with their values. Areeb will share his story of creating and growing the app.

2pm: How to create a brilliant brand

Kathy Ennis is a business woman, trainer, author and fun-loving optimist, dedicated to helping people create the business they want. In this practical session, Kathy will share her five and a half tips for creating a brilliant brand that stands out from the crowd and succeeds.

2.30pm: Top tips from expert entrepreneurs

A panel of expert entrepreneurs will join Next Gen Fest to share their business journeys and top tips for starting and growing a successful business as a young entrepreneur. The panellists:

• Sam Teale, founder, Sam Teale Productions

• Joe Taylor, founder, e-Growth & winner of Next Gen Fest 2019

3pm: Growing an award-winning product brand and increasing sales

Husband and wife duo Zak and Zara started natural skincare brand Delhicious in 2019 and have gone on to win product awards and get featured in Buzzfeed, Harpers Bazaar and Stylist, as well as appearing on BBC's Dragons Den. The brand has amassed 224k followers on TikTok and the pair are continuing to grow their sales through social media. Hear the Delhicious story and tips for growing a following and increasing sales.

3:30pm Making an impact with your start-up

Navjot Sawheny is the founder of The Washing Machine Project – a grassroots social enterprise with a mission to alleviate the burden of hand-washing clothes. 70% of the world’s population lack access to an electric washing machine and Navjot is on a mission to provide low-income communities with an accessible, off-grid washing solution. The company has been featured on BBC, ITV and Sky News and partners with Santander, the University of Bath and more. Navjot will share how you can start and grow a business that will have a positive impact.

4pm: Live pitching

Six participants of the Next Generation programme will be pitching their business ideas live on stage to a panel of judges and the winner will be awarded £10,000. Watch the pitches live.

5pm: How I did it: Growing a business valued at $250m and raising money from Kris Jenner with Ed Beccle, founder, Glorify App

Ed Beccle is the founder of Glorify, the #1 Christian daily worship app. The 22-year-old entrepreneur successfully raised capital from a string of Silicon Valley and Hollywood A-listers in a deal that valued his start-up business at around $250 million. Investors include Kris Jenner, Michael Bublé and Jason Derulo. Ed will share his story and his advice for young entrepreneurs at Next Gen Fest.

5:30pm: Winner is announced

The pitcher who will win £10,000 shall be announced.

5:35pm: Networking

Connect with aspiring entrepreneurs and share your top learnings from the day.

6pm: Event ends

Who is the festival aimed at?

The festival is perfect for anyone aged 18-30 that is interested in setting up their own business or side-hustle or has a business that they want to grow. 


You must register before the event date. We cannot accept walk-ins. Book your ticket early to avoid disappointment. Please note that in the event you are unable to attend this event due to cancellation from yourself or Enterprise Nation, we are unable to refund any associated costs such as hotel or travel.
