Business policy specialist Daniel Woolf has joined Enterprise Nation to help the small business support platform and membership community amplify the voice of small businesses.
Daniel joins from AECOM, a global infrastructure consultancy where he served as a principal consultant in its advisory function, providing political, policy and strategic advice.
Before that, Daniel was a senior policy adviser at the CBI, protecting UK businesses against the unprecedented threat of COVID-19 by helping to shape its response to the pandemic.
In its Infrastructure & Energy Directorate, Daniel championed the role of the private sector in UK infrastructure, leading the CBI’s successful campaign for the creation of the UK Infrastructure Bank.
Daniel also worked at London's City Hall as a policy researcher and served as a political adviser to a number of elected politicians, including the former Deputy Mayor of London, Victoria Borwick.
Emma Jones CBE, founder and CEO of Enterprise Nation, said:
“The UK’s entrepreneurs remain resilient but will need ongoing support to help them navigate a challenging economic climate and work towards growth.
“Helping develop the policy needed to support businesses to innovate, take on staff and have the confidence to open new and successful ventures is vital if we’re going to compete globally.
"Daniel’s detailed experience and work in this field will help us to ensure policymakers understand the real needs of small businesses as we work towards growth.”
Daniel joins Enterprise Nation to give the SME community a stronger voice as it tackles a fresh set of challenges – inflationary pressures, interest rates and energy costs. He said:
"I'm thrilled to be joining Enterprise Nation, an organisation at the forefront of championing and supporting Britain's SMEs.
"I look forward to working closely with small businesses and the government to create an environment that nurtures entrepreneurs and ensures they have the support needed to thrive and innovate here in the UK.
"This is a challenging economic period, but through continued partnership between SMEs and the government, we can help ensure that the UK is the best country in which to start and grow a business."
