StartUp Show's Visionary Voices

When it comes to starting and growing your very own business, it's crucial to hear from the best and brightest minds in UK business first.

Luckily, many of them will be holding court with gusto on the Visionary Voices stage. Here are some of our confirmed speakers:

Emma Barnett and Jeremy Weil

Emma and Jeremy co-founded their family business Colour Your Streets in 2024, not long after the birth of their daughter.

Inspired by the pram walks around their local neighbourhood with their older son, they were surprised to learn local colouring books of people's areas didn't exist.

So they created one: Colour In Brixton, swiftly followed by Colour In Herne Hill. Now the Colour Your Streets family numbers over 100 books, with more added each week.

The duo are now mapping the UK and the world with their colouring books and love their many bespoke commissions too. Described by the Guardian as "a family business grounded in community and curiosity", Colour Your Streets is also diversifying into colouring-in biscuits and posters.

Emma works as a journalist for the BBC, where she presents The Today programme and writes a column for the i newspaper. Jeremy works at the Economist's Editorial Intelligence Unit as the head of product.

Deepak Ravindran

Deepak is the co-founder of Oddbox, the UK’s first sustainable fruit and veg box delivery service. He's been instrumental in rescuing over 40,000 tonnes of fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste, supporting farmers and promoting sustainability.

Hear from Deepak about his innovative approach to combating environmental challenges and how he's positioned Oddbox as a leading force in the fight against food waste, with revenues climbing to over £32 million.

Will Pearson

Will is interested in combining entrepreneurship with social and environmental impact. He's appeared on the Forbes 30 under 30 list and was named one of Norway's Top 10 Leaders under 30 for his work towards the sustainable development goals.

After his engineering degree, Will spent a year working at sea in the Indian Ocean, where he experienced first-hand the effects of pollution on the ocean. From there, he decided to pursue a career in environmental impact and business.

He believes that everyone should have access to the beauty of nature and it's the job of business to connect people to the natural world through experiences or design so that they can best protect it.

Will met his co-founder Nick at London Business School, where they had the idea for Ocean Bottle.

With a background in product development and engineering including developing an atomically thin solar cell for his engineering thesis Will has nurtured an obsession to create products that give more to the world and environment than they take from it and hopes to inspire some of the world’s largest companies to do the same.

With 20 years of experience working with major brands like Unilever and Nivea, Chris has won over 100 awards and is known for applying psychology and behavioural economics to drive positive social change across a wide range of societal issues.

Mark Rushmore and Gyve Safavi

Mark and Gyve are two former advertising professionals who founded SURI, a brand focused on sustainability. With the aim of disrupting a waste-heavy industry, they created a recyclable electric toothbrush.

Despite encountering initial challenges with manufacturers, the pair's product gained traction, earning £3 million in its first year and getting stocked by major retailers. With a subscription service and plans for expansion, SURI is now a growing symbol of conscious consumerism.

Join this session for inspiration from two ambitious co-founders who were determined never to give up, despite hearing from many people that what they were trying to achieve was impossible.
