If you run a retail business, this is a must-attend talk. The panel will dive into the realities and benefits of creating a pop-up experience for your community, how to test the retail space and when might be the right time to consider opening a brick-and-mortar store.

John Hoyle

John Hoyle

John is committed to disrupting the "deeply inefficient physical retail sector".

Founded in 2019 from an empty restaurant in Cambridge, Sook now offers flexible, sustainable, digitally-enabled pop-up space to any brand, business or community that needs it whenever they need it in prime retail locations.

Chris Forbes

Since launching, the eco-friendly bamboo paper brand has gained a legion of devoted followers, targeting a £15 million turnover for 2023 and planning an IPO.

Chris, joined by his non-executive director, Giles Brook, talks about why getting the right support at the right time is key to success.

Amy Anzel

Do you want to create a business with a purposeful mission that will benefit those around you? This is the panel for you. Entrepreneurs will share their inspiring stories of building communities, tackling societal challenges and making an impact that matters.

Saasha Celestial-One

Saasha Celestial-One

Saasha is the co-founder and COO of Olio, a free app that harnesses the power of mobile technology and the sharing economy to provide a revolutionary new solution to the problem of food waste.

Olio does this by connecting neighbours with each other and with local businesses so that surplus food can be shared, not thrown away. Launched in the UK in January 2016, Olio has over 100 team members and 7 million users, supported by over 100,000 volunteers promoting it in their local communities.

Sarah de Vere-Drummond

Sarah de Vere-Drummond

Sarah co-founded Kip Hideaways, the membership website for affordable self-catering holiday rentals, in 2019. After working in the boutique travel industry for years, she along with her co-founder, Liz Simpson, spotted a gap in the market for an online community that features only self-catering hideaways.

Despite launching during the coronavirus pandemic when travel wasn't possible, the business saw a growth in memberships as people dreamt of their next holiday once restrictions were removed.

Sarah was recently featured on our The Small Business Sessions podcast.

James Wise

James Wise

James is a venture capitalist, technology commentator and author of Start-Up Century. He has worked with some of the most successful technology companies of the last decade as they've grown from their founders' living rooms to Nasdaq IPOs.

More of us than ever are starting a business. Fuelled by new technologies like artificial intelligence and automation, this trend is only just beginning. James will help us understand how individuals and start-ups, not corporations, will solve the challenges of the 21st century.
