In this Lunch and Learn, business coach Marisa Guthrie shares how to enhance your brand storytelling so you can connect what you do with the people who need to know.

A good brand tells a story. It tells customer and prospects about the work you do and what led you to start your business, but is also about your customer's story. Their own experience and the problem they have needs to be reflected in your brand story.

From the minute they engage with your content, you are setting the scene for them, expressing your values and what you stand for.

Key takeaways from this session:

  • Clarify your brand values and enhance marketing messages so you can attract more customers and increase your income

  • Gain an understanding of your audience and what problem your business solves for them

  • Develop a content strategy for your website and social media

Before setting up my own coaching and mentoring business near Brighton in 2008 I was involved in running businesses for over 20 years, mainly in the retail and healthcare industries I worked with large organisations such as Neal’s Yard Remedies and Planet Organic as well as many smaller companies, and was the Executive Director of a charity for several years. I founded and developed a number of social enterprises including a cross-party think tank and in 2016 I helped set up Lewes Women In Business, a not-for-profit peer to peer business support network. I am currently a member of the Charter for Women In Business.  As part of my commitment to supporting independent business, I now work alongside policy makers from local government helping to shape the services available to small business owners and start-ups in Lewes District. Throughout my career within the business and social enterprise world, from customer-facing roles to senior management, to becoming a CEO and running my own businesses I have gained valuable insight into the issues which business owners face. I write about many of these in my blog and was recently voted one of the Top 100 Business Coach Bloggers.
