Final call for Irish ‘green’ business ideas

Final call for Irish ‘green’ business ideas

Posted: Tue 3rd May 2022

ClimateLaunchpad is calling for all Irish ‘green’ business ideas.

The self-proclaimed ‘biggest green business idea competition on the planet’ is supported by TU Dublin’s GROWTH Hub and closes on Friday 6 May 2022.

The competition which promises training, coaching, access to a global network and of course prizes, is looking for early stage cleantech ideas.

If you have an idea in the area of energy efficiency, food and agriculture, industrial technology, renewable energy, transportation, water or have any other way to tackle climate change then ClimateLaunchpad wants to hear from you.

Who can apply

There are some restrictions on who can enter the competition so do make sure you are in the throes of getting your idea together or at least less than 12 months young. Also, you should have no substantial revenue and have no grants or investments above €200,000. And you must not have sold products, solutions or prototypes on commercial terms.

ClimateLaunchpad is supported by EIT Climate-KIC so if you have already been accepted into EIT Climate-KIC Accelerator or if they have participated in ClimateLaunchpad then you’ll have to apply this time around with a new idea.

Online course

All entries will be invited to participate in a self-paced online course.  A national jury will select 10 teams in Ireland to participate in the next stage which is an online boot camp.

Speaking about how ClimateLaunchpad can help your green idea TU Dublin GROWTH Hub Lead Paul O’Reilly said, “It is a learning experience that helps all those who participate shape their business ideas. You may think that your idea is great but growing that idea into a thriving business is a different proposition, and this is where ClimateLaunchpad can help.”

“Your idea doesn’t have to be completely developed; it can still be something you scribbled on the back of a napkin. ClimateLaunchpad will help you transform your idea into a business with the potential to tackle climate change and make a profit.”

Application form

Applicants can submit their idea through the application form on the ClimateLaunchpad website. Remember the closing date is Friday 6 May 2022.
