Do you do business with any of these 32 big companies? They've promised to pay within 60 days

32 of the government's biggest suppliers have agreed to pay 95% of invoices within 60 days and to "work towards adopting 30 days as the norm".
The businesses, which typically have public sector contracts of more than £100m and collectively account for around 40% of government procurement spend, have signed up to the Prompt Payment Code, which sets standards for payment practices.
A total of 1,996 businesses are current signatories.
The code is voluntary and has no legal authority but ministers say now that the likes of Virgin Media, BT, Microsoft and Vodafone have signed up, it is "strengthened" and will help the cashflow of small and medium sized enterprises which are collectively owed more than £26bn in overdue payments.
Emma Jones, Enterprise Nation founder and the government's SME crown representative, said: "Late payment is something Enterprise Nation has been campaigning on for several years so this is a great move from government's strategic suppliers.
"It is welcome news for SMEs who want to secure government work, via large corporates, along with the prompt payment terms that come when dealing with government direct.
"Evidence shows that the better the payment relationship between suppliers, the better the relationship overall."
The government has pledged to help small firms deal with the crippling problem of unpaid invoices.
It originally announced plans to appoint a late payment commissioner in 2015 but the apppointment has yet to be made.
The job was first advertised in February 2017 with applications closing on 27 March.
According to the public appointments website, final interviews are due to be held on 12 and 19 July with the final announcement "to be confirmed".
