Henry L Gewanter established Positive Profile in 1997 upon leaving Financial Dynamics after nearly five years as Head of their Financial Services Division, which he founded. He joined Financial Dynamics in 1993 from First Financial, part of the Lowe Bell Group, where he was a Director responsible for a broad range of clients including public and professional bodies, both wholesale and retail financial institutions and business-to-business companies.
Prior to that, he was Deputy Head of Public Relations and Head of Advertising for two years at County NatWest. Before that he was with National Westminster Bank for eight years in banking, corporate finance and business development.
An expert in disaster containment and control, he has both domestic and international experience in business crisis management, dealing with employees, customers, analysts, investors, governmental regulators and the media. High-profile crisis management projects successfully handled include the Blue Arrow trials for County NatWest and the Maxwell pension scandal on behalf of IMRO, as well as a number of lesser-known corporate, financial, regulatory and administrative disasters. His recent work includes exposing the MPs’ expenses scandal with The Daily Telegraph.
He graduated from King's College, Cambridge in 1974, after studying at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland and the Bronx High School of Science in New York City, where he was a National Merit Scholar.
He has a wide working knowledge of the City with clearing, international, merchant and investment banking experience. He has lectured widely on investment, most notably for The Chartered Institute of Bankers, where he is an Assistant Examiner in the subject, and a Life Fellow.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, the Institute of Direct Marketing, the Chartered Institute of Bankers (now trading as IFS School of Finance) and the Royal Society of Arts and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Association of Banking Teachers' Consultancy Panel.
