New Start employment grant

New Start works with organisations or individual employers if your business is in the Mansfield, Bassetlaw, Newark and Sherwood or Nottingham City areas.

The grant is in two parts:

• Salary costs: reimbursement of salary costs for up to three months for 30 hours per week at the participant's minimum wage
• Support costs: maximum of £3,000 for up to a three-month period

Eligibility requirements

The opportunity must have some form of training/learning attached to it, including the provision of time (as part of their contracted hours) to receive employability support from New Start.

The grant is claimed against the salary costs of the participant and related support costs incurred by the employer.

New Start will identify and shortlist suitable participants for the employer to select from. The employer will interview participants and employ an agreed number of New Start participants. The employer will provide feedback to New Start related to unsuccessful participants.
