Lewisham Council and Goldsmiths, University of London are providing a range of support to help high street businesses in Lewisham embrace We Are Lewisham, the 2022 Borough of Culture programme, and maximise all the opportunities for increased trade it will bring.

With an exciting schedule of events and activities planned throughout the year, we want to ensure High Street businesses can benefit from increased footfall to generate new customers and more sales.

High Street businesses are a vital part of Lewisham’s culture and economy, and we want to make sure every business can support We Are Lewisham’s themes:

• Climate Action – raising awareness of the impact of climate change and taking action to support carbon reduction.
• Celebrating Diversity – telling the story of migration, promoting our diverse independent business sectors.
• Protect the place we love – encouraging residents and visitors to eat and shop locally

Sign up to the programme to receive support in the form of:

• Online and in person opportunities to meet and collaborate with other businesses
• Exclusive access to workshops and opportunities for 1-1 support
• Regular updates on planned Borough of Culture events and activities and how you can get involved
• The chance to apply for up to £2,500 of funding per business to help you get involved, with application support to help you along the way

We will be encouraging businesses to come together to celebrate their place, their sector and their heritage to make 2022 a truly special year for Lewisham.
