Braintree: Cycle storage grant scheme

Braintree: Cycle storage grant scheme

Braintree District Council is offering capital grants to businesses willing to invest in on-site cycle storage facilities. This scheme has been launched to reduce congestion and ease the parking issues in some of its key industrial areas.

What help is available

Grants of up to £2,000 are available to 30 businesses willing to buy and install cycle storage facilities at their workplaces.

The council will consider joint applications from two or more businesses to enable a larger cycle storage facility to be installed between premises.

Which businesses are eligible

It will accept applications from small- and medium-sized businesses (with fewer than 250 employees) as long as it is based on one of the industrial estates in the district.

Your business must be an independent enterprise and not part of a large corporation.

The businesses in the industrial areas that the council will prioritise are:

  • Lakes Industrial Park
  • Lynderswood
  • Skitts Hill Industrial Estate
