Problem

Having successfully secured funding through UKSPF to deliver a business support project in Croydon, the London Borough of Croydon wanted to set up a project to provide support to local entrepreneurs aged 18-35, as well as providing advice and guidance to residents interested in opening their own business.

The support provided would need to be a hybrid of face-to-face and online support, as well as a bootcamp format used to support any SME’s identified as growth businesses. Additionally, businesses should be supported in accessing 1-2-1 support with a network of business advisers.

Problem

Solution

Enterprise Nation proposed a hybrid delivery model, with activity both online and in person and included working with local partners, all of whom presented direct routes to the target audience with realistic ambitions to launch and/or grow a business over the next 12-15months. Participants would access the programme through a co-branded hub hosted within the Enterprise Nation platform, where the aspiring young entrepreneurs would find on-demand access to libraries of resources, an active community and other direct activity specific to the programme itself.

Enterprise Nation also designed a series of three hybrid bootcamps, to be delivered by its team of dedicated start-up trainers, coaches, and mentors, all under the supervision of an experienced Programme Manager.  The bootcamps would follow a progressive format, tailored to meet the needs of specific audiences, and scheduled in way that enabled participants to graduate from one bootcamp to the next, should they wish.

The bootcamps would follow a proven format that includes a launch event, weekly training sessions, cohort engagement, in-person events and ongoing community support.
