The London wellbeing founder finally allowing herself to grow

Meet Ida Agyekum, founder of Developing You for Others, a wellbeing and mental health service.

Ida has more than two decades worth of experience in youth development, including working with girls and championing their empowerment across the UK and Africa.

She now offers bespoke coaching and mentoring sessions that help people prioritise their mental health and boost their confidence. Through Grow London Local, Ida found the community and the support she needed to grow her business.

Tell us about your business.

My name is Ida Agyekum, my business is Developing You for Others. We provide a mental wellbeing service that focuses on anxiety and trauma-informed practice.

How did you hear about Grow London Local?

A friend introduced me to Grow London Local and then I was referred to [Business Development Manager] Leeanne. She put me in the right direction for help once she understood what my business was.

Would you recommend Grow London Local?

I would, because there are so many people out there that don't know where to get help, and it just allows us to know that we're not alone.

I feel that's what's helped me, that I'm not alone, that I can take the steps and it's not a scary world.

They make you feel that you're able to achieve anything, and you'll get the support you need. I believe that's the type of support we all need as growing businesses.

What advice would you give to other small business owners?

The advice I would give to small businesses in London is not to stay in a box, but allow yourself to grow.
