Carol Jackson is the founder of ELJ Drinks Ltd, the home of the incredible range of naturally coloured and flavoured gins, called 

. The aim has always been to bring fun and colour to the gin market.

Carol started her journey in the alcohol industry in 2017. Like many small businesses, she created the business whilst still working full time. Initially, Carol and her team created a range of ready to drink gin cocktails, using the first creation of Ellis Gin as the base alcohol. The RTDs were delivered in premium cylindrical glass bottles with a quirky snap cap – ticking the boxes on convenience, low calorie and premium!

In 2018, Carol introduced Ellis Gin to the market – initially launching with two colour changing gins, Carol joined the Pink Gin gang in 2019 and during the first lockdown of 2020, using a Crowdfunder campaign – she launched the latest addition to the range Ellis No.5 Lemon Gin – described as Sunshine in a glass!

Following a degree in Law and Japanese, Emma joined international accounting firm Arthur Andersen, where she worked in London, Leeds and Manchester offices and set up the firm's Inward Investment practice that attracted overseas companies to locate in the UK. 



In 2000, bitten by the dot.com bug, Emma left the firm to start her first business, Techlocate. 

After 15 months, the company was successfully sold to Tenon plc. The experience of starting, growing and selling a business from a home base gave Emma the idea for Enterprise Nation which was launched in 2006 as the home business website. The company has since expanded to become a small business membership community of over 75,000 people who benefit from events and support: online and in person. Enterprise Nation also presents a campaigning voice to government and the media on behalf of its members. 

In 2021, Emma was awarded a CBE for services to small businesses and entrepreneurs.
