Sky Media, the advertising arm of Sky, has extended its Sky Zero Footprint Fund to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

Launched in 2021, the initiative is aimed at promoting brands' sustainability efforts using television advertising.

The new fund, dubbed 'Local Heroes', is aimed at businesses with up to 500 employees that have been trading for at least 12 months.

Nine firms from different regions in the UK and Republic of Ireland will receive £20,000/€20,000 of media value to spend on a TV campaign as well as up to £2,500/€2,500 towards ad creation from a local production agency.

Winners will be selected through a combination of public vote and local judging.

David Sanderson, director of AdSmart Local and Development, said:

"Businesses of all shapes and sizes around the UK are making real change in the fight against climate change.

"We want to reward those businesses by giving them access to grow their business and spread their sustainable message."

Applications close on 29 October. For full details and to apply, visit this page.
