Introducing Supply Connect: Opening doors to public contracts

Supplying to the public sector can feel like a closed shop. Many small businesses assume government contracts are out of reach, reserved for big firms with entire teams dedicated to bidding.
But with the launch of Supply Connect, that's about to change.
What's Supply Connect?
Supply Connect is a new, fully funded programme created to make public sector procurement more accessible for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK.
Delivered by Enterprise Nation in partnership with Newable and supported by JPMorganChase, the two-year pilot is designed to help SMEs understand how procurement works, get contract-ready and connect with the right opportunities.
Why does this matter?
The UK public sector spends over £300 billion a year on goods and services – everything from IT and construction to catering, cleaning and consultancy.
Yet many small businesses miss out because the process feels complicated or they don't know how to get involved.
The new Procurement Act is set to change that. It requires government and its main suppliers to open up supply chains and make sure more contracts reach SMEs. That means there's never been a better time for small businesses to step forward.
What is Supply Connect offering?
We've created Supply Connect to remove the barriers that hold SMEs back. Here's what you'll get when you join:
A national supplier hub – an online platform where you can create a profile, showcase your business and be matched with contract opportunities
Tailored support – from one-to-one consultations and bid writing advice to templates, checklists and e-learning resources
Events and networking – including Meet the Buyer sessions, workshops and webinars to help you understand what buyers want and how to present your offer
Strategic supplier connections – access to large companies delivering major government contracts who are looking for SME partners to strengthen their supply chains
Confidence and readiness – guidance on the essentials like insurance, cyber security, health and safety and social value policies so you can demonstrate that you're fit to supply
Who is it for?
Supply Connect is open to SMEs across every sector. Whether you run a catering company, a digital agency, a construction business or a professional services firm, you may be eligible to win work.
The programme is free to join and is designed for businesses at every stage – whether you've never bid before or you're looking to grow your presence in the public sector.
Why join now?
Public procurement can feel like a long game, but the rewards are significant. Contracts often run for a number of years, providing predictable income and opportunities to expand. They also give your business credibility and open doors to new markets.
With Supply Connect, you don't have to figure it out alone. The programme gives you the knowledge, tools and support to take advantage of opportunities that might otherwise pass you by.
