Business and trade secretary Jonathan Reynolds has appointed 32 parliamentarians as new trade envoys.
As part of the scheme first set in 2012, the MPs and peers are tasked with identifying trade and investment opportunities for UK businesses and championing the UK as an investment destination of choice.
Jonathan Reynolds said:
"Trade and investment are key to delivering economic growth, the number one mission of this government and a key part of our plan for change.
"That's why I've launched a new team of trade envoys, who will use their experience, expertise and knowledge to unlock new markets around the world for British businesses, drumming up investment into the UK and ultimately driving economic growth."
The announcement of the new trade envoys comes ahead of the government's upcoming trade strategy. Enterprise Nation participated in the recent consultation.
Our recommendations focused on reinstating the UK Tradeshow Programme, ensuring UK Export Finance is sufficiently resourced, championing free trade, and introducing incentives such as export tax credits or export vouchers.
