I am a Chartered Accountant, having earned a respected reputation in the field of accounting, with more than 19 years of experience in working with small and medium-sized enterprises. Having worked with business owners ranging from one-man start-ups to large companies requiring a different level of services, I have developed a passion for the profession and I am driven by the success of my clients. I have spent many years in business working at boardroom level, holding various positions before being motivated to start my own practice, Makesworth Accountants, where I have blended my technical skills in accounting and tax with my business skills derived from my time in the industry. I have embraced the changing times and technologies and strongly agree that accountants are moving from being number crunchers to being reliable and trusted advisors. Throughout this process, Makesworth has been able to secure various affiliations and awards.

I am a qualified Chartered Accountant with over a decade of experience working in general accountancy practice. After a successful career with two small practices, I have decided to start up my own practice to be able to provide a value added service I feel is often missed in a traditional accountancy practice.
From the start of my training I have always enjoyed making the books balance and following on from training I have enjoyed interpreting those books for my clients. I enjoy working with small and medium sized businesses as it allows me to be involved with the whole finance function in a business and able to assist the owners in their financial decision making. I am fluent in the preparation and submission of accounts and tax returns and I have also helped several companies to set up and maintain their bookkeeping systems. In addition to these tasks expected of a general accountancy practice I enjoy going above and beyond and acting as a finance business partner for your business including the preparation and interpretation of management accounts and cashflow statements.
Outside of work I am a mum to one child and one dog, I love the outdoors and my hobbies include reading and sewing.

With bases in Gloucester and West Sussex, Kathie is also the owner and Director of Mode Business Training &amp; Prosperon Networks, a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership, a Full Member of The Association of Business Mentors, a Member of the Association of Coaching Supervisors and a Master practitioner of the EMCC. Kathie is also a qualified CBT &amp; DBT therapist.
With a focus on accountability, constructive challenging skills and taking ownership of self-development. Kathie’s aim is to help individuals and businesses grow both organically and strategically using a range of techniques to uncover untapped potential.
Outside of the business arena, Kathie has an ongoing love of learning new, and sometimes bizarre skills. She has trained as an Opera singer, swum with Stingrays, has a full motorbike license, and considers herself a bit of a Sci-Fi geek.
