Before I launched my virtual assistance business during the global pandemic I knew that there were opportunities in the virtual world. However, I totally underestimated just how much demand there would be for these types of services.
In 2020 I set up Clare Lucas Real Business Solutions, offering virtual assistance to business owners. Within a year I was working at full capacity and quickly realised that I needed to grow a team. So I did. I’ve grown a team of amazingly talented individuals whose skill sets complement mine.
Clare Lucas Real Business Solutions morphed into much more than a traditional virtual assistance business that many think of as, well, admin. I’ve been able to utilise my project, business, and event management skills and now run a monthly membership for start ups.
We now don’t work solely with businesses. We work with businesses, charities, CIC’s and film productions.
The business organically evolved and after strategy and planning sessions UK Ducks In A Row was born.

Sarah Berthon is the founder of Excel against the Odds and is passionate about supporting people with chronic illness in business and in the workplace.
Sarah lives with several chronic illnesses including PoTS, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, ME/CFS and Chronic Migraine and has experience of working in Corporate Organisations and running her own businesses whilst living with these conditions.
Sarah advises organisations on how they can better support employees with chronic illnesses, looking at strategy, raising awareness and providing one-to-one mentoring for both managers and employees.
Sarah also supports business owners with chronic illnesses and offers mentoring and workshops as well as a free community in the Entrepreneurs against the Odds Facebook group. She also hosts the Excel against the Odds podcast talking about the successes and challenges of working with a chronic illness.
Excel against the Odds was selected to be part of the Small Biz 100 in 2021. Sarah was chosen to be part of the #ialso F:entrepreneur campaign in 2023 celebrating the UK’s 100 most inspiring female business owners. She is also a Purple Tuesday Ambassador. Sarah is currently a member of the Lilac Review Steering Board looking at improving the disabled entrepreneur experience.

Twenty years ago I was using some pretty advanced energy and play techniques which got great results. I helped grown men in grey suits get out of their heads and into their gut and their intuition. I had great fun at work. Away from that environment, I had a secret life going on in my head which meant I was desperately trying to find someone to love me. In 2013 I began dating my husband, John. We dated way back in 1983 and somehow 30 years later, John discovered me online. That&apos;s a story for another time. I found John and the Law of Attraction at the same time. Neither of us was in a good place, but we made a promise to ourselves that we were going to help each other, communicate openly and find happiness together. The Law of Attraction most definitely helped us both examine our behaviour and what we were attracting, but it wasn’t until I was introduced to Human Design that the magic happened. I began to see I wasn’t valuing my uniqueness. I began to see I was hiding and keeping myself small. I began to see the life that I’d kept secret from others WAS how I was meant to be As The Queen of Reinvention, I help women understand their uniqueness and how to make their secret life come true.
