The government's 2024 Spring Budget, which is likely to be the last major fiscal event before the next general election, will be on 6 March 2024.

The announcement today by the Treasury comes amid rumours that the speech by chancellor Jeremy Hunt will include further tax cuts following those announced for workers and businesses in the 2023 Autumn Statement in November.

The general election must happen by January 2025, but some commentators have said that with the Budget taking place earlier in March than usual, the general election might take place in May 2024 and possibly alongside the local council elections which are on 2 May.

The government is seeking feedback on what should be in the Budget. Enterprise Nation will be submitting asks on behalf of our small business community. You can see Enterprise Nation's submission for the 2023 Autumn Statement here.
