When I started my previous businesses, I didn't start them in order to study employment law or to understand the intricacies of health and safety. I wanted to spend my time speaking with suppliers, generating sales, speaking with clients, analysing costs and understanding the ROI of my decisions. I wanted to grow and I was excited by the prospect of generating new business, I didn't want to think about grievance policies, disciplinaries, tips policies or health and safety policies. I didn't want to think about the impact of legislation changes on my business, caused by employment or health and safety law. That being said, I did understand the importance of it and that's why I now do what I do - supporting companies with these requirements.
