Multiply: Get ready for functional skills exams

What you'll learn:

• Understand how to do calculations with large numbers, including multiplications with decimals and divisions with remainders
• Express and work with fractions and their equivalents
• Understand and make calculations with money, weights, and temperatures using imperial and metric units
• Develop your understanding of 2-D and 3-D shapes, including symmetry, angles, and other properties
• Interpret, group, and compare data in frequency tables, diagrams, and charts

This is a preparation course for the functional skills maths level 1 or level 2 qualification. It is a non-accredited maths course.

The aim of this programme is to help you start your functional maths course with the prior knowledge you’ll need.

Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a skills check. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam. It’s for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level. Our friendly team will contact you to start your skills check as part of your booking.

When you complete this introductory course, you will be ready to take the functional skills level 1 course in maths.

There are “get ready” courses between every level to help you succeed at the next step.

What to expect:

This preparation course for functional skills in maths takes up to 55 hours to complete. It gives you more opportunities to learn the numeracy skills required for a level 1 functional skills course.
