Ready to Start Something? New business bootcamps for Haringey entrepreneurs

Posted: Tue 10th Sep 2024

Are you an aspiring entrepreneur based in or around Haringey? Join a new series of bootcamps to access training and advice on developing your start-up, and pitch for £1,000 for your business.

Start Something is a free programme for local residents aged 18 to 30, delivered by Enterprise Nation for Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. This community support is aimed at the following groups:

  • Young adults who have an idea for a business and need support with next steps

  • Local entrepreneurs who have started their small business and are looking for additional help

  • Young adults in the local community who are looking to develop transferable skills – such as communication, project management and teamwork – to help support them in finding employment and furthering their careers

What the programme involves

There is an online support hub featuring e-learning, information about upcoming business events, and access to advisers and mentors.

Alongside these resources is a free eight-week bootcamp. By signing up, you'll receive training in entrepreneurship through group workshops and one-to-one mentoring.

You'll also get access to networking opportunities. At the end of the eight weeks, you'll be able to pitch for a chance to win up to £1,000 for your business.

The bootcamps will be delivered online and in person, and in a way that suits both potential entrepreneurs and founders with already established businesses.

Emma Jones CBE, founder of Enterprise Nation, said:

"Enterprise Nation lives and breathes start-up support every day, and we really admire the ambition of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation's forward-thinking plans to boost Haringey's economy by supporting the next generation of young entrepreneurs.

"Our own research has found 54% of young people aged 18 to 24 now want to start a business at some point in their career. So, supporting them to have confidence and skills from the get-go is vital. We look forward to working with all those who are starting a business or in the early stages of doing so."
