Running a business, you make hundreds of small decisions every single day.
What to wear, which email to answer first. Whether to hire that person, adjust your pricing, pivot your product, or respond to that investor.
Each choice seems minor in isolation, but the cumulative weight of these decisions is rarely named or acknowledged.
You're left feeling exhausted, confused and unable to think clearly by afternoon. That's decision fatigue, and it's simply biology.
What decision fatigue actually is
Decision fatigue is the deteriorating quality of decisions you make after sustained decision-making.
It's not the same as burnout (though it can lead there), and it's absolutely different from laziness or lack of hustle.
Imagine yourself sharp and decisive in your 9am meeting, yet by 3pm you're defaulting to "no" on everything, procrastinating on the decision you need to make, or making an impulsive choice that contradicts your values.
