Enterprise Nation becomes an accredited Living Wage Employer

Posted: Fri 24th Jun 2022

Enterprise Nation joins a movement of thousands of businesses that believe a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.

As a result, Enterprise Nation has been recognised as an employer that pays all staff the real Living Wage.

This comes courtesy of the Living Wage Foundation, which accredits a large variety of employers, ranging from Google to Chelsea FC.

While Enterprise Nation is already committed to paying all directly employed individuals at least the real Living Wage, it’s fantastic to join over 10,000 other businesses that are accredited.

What is the real Living Wage?

The real Living Wage is the only UK wage voluntarily paid by over 10,000 businesses, which is calculated according to the current cost of living.

While the Minimum Wage and National Living Wage are compulsory for under-23s and over-23s respectively, paying the real Living Wage is very much down to the employer.

The real Living Wage in 2021/22 is £9.90 per hour in the UK and £11.05 in London, with the 2022/23 figures due to be independently calculated and released in September 2022.

Enterprise Nation founder Emma Jones:

“We were already following the real Living Wage but wanted to be accredited to show the team that this matters to us as a business.

“Since becoming accreditated, we have become more aware of how the Living Wage is applied through partners with whom we work in the supply chain, and hopefully puts us in a stronger position to offer support to businesses in the Enterprise Nation community on the benefits of being a Living Wage Employer.”
