Crystal: Thank you so much. I'm so pleased to be here.
I'm going to be talking to you this week, next week and the week after. We're going to be talking about lots of different things that you can do with AI, and lots of things you can do on Wix.
As Ryan said, I am head of AI search and SEO communications over at Wix. I do enterprise growth and thought leadership around the world.
As of last week, I'm a bestselling author, which is very exciting, and I'm an AI search expert. Thanks to everyone for joining us.
I've worked at Wix for nearly four years now, and it's a great team.
If you don't know loads about Wix, we were founded in 2006 and we have users in over 190 countries.
We have over 300 million registered users. We're supporting over 20 languages. We have locations in 22 different places, and we're a big team.
There are about 4,000 of us around the world, and all of us are working to help people create websites in a really easy way. That's been part of the fundamental building blocks of Wix since day one.
Wix believes in pushing boundaries, embracing innovation, fostering collaboration and breaking barriers for people. That's why we're here today.
Today, you're interested in building a website with AI, and that's what we're going to talk about.
We're going to talk about how you can create a website with AI, how you can customise your new AI website and how you can use your website as a tool for growth.
This is something that I have always advocated for throughout the entirety of my long marketing career.
Your website is a tool, and it should be used as such. So let's get into the first section.
We're going to talk about creating a website with AI. One of the things that always comes up for me is this: it's 2026, so why are there still businesses without websites?
I think this is something that we need to think about, because it might apply to some of the people in the audience today.
If you think about it, it's normally because there's something in the way.
Either you're just starting out and you're not sure what to do, or you're relying on your social media accounts.
I know lots of businesses, particularly restaurants, where you go to find the restaurant and they've just got a Facebook page, an Instagram page or something like that.
Maybe they don't have time. Maybe they don't have budget. Maybe they don't have bandwidth. Maybe they just don't have the headspace to get the website going and get it ready.
The thing about AI is that AI unlocks the potential for that. We've seen this since we started pushing and accelerating our AI tools.
We've done research to back this up, not just from us but from our whole wider network. As we said, we have over 300 million users. We had a look at that to see how it goes.
What we found was that businesses are building faster with AI. In 2022, it was taking 14 days for the average website to publish on Wix. By 2026, it was only taking four days for websites to publish on Wix.
We're seeing this across lots of different industries. It's not just one industry.
One of the things that a website gives you is control over your brand narrative. It helps you have an HQ for your brand assets and resources. This is super important even in the age of AI.
It allows you to have space to evolve your offering and the ability to grow your audience so that you can sell your products, generate leads and build up your audience in the future.
So let's get started with how you can do that on Harmony. With Wix Harmony, we have an AI website builder.
As I said, businesses are building faster with AI. We've gone from 14 days down to four days, and Harmony has been a big part of that.
This is something that we found to be really valuable, and we've rolled this out over the last year.
Essentially, what Harmony does is allow you to create your website and then have this build-along tool.
You have Aria, which allows you to build alongside while you're working. You can ask it questions while you're building. You can ask it questions while you're starting your build.
It's always with you, and it helps you move faster.
To get this going, the first thing you need to do is go to Wix Harmony. I think we've got the link in there from Enterprise Nation.
You go to wix.com/harmony, and you can get into the chatbot and get started.
The next thing you're going to do is enter a design prompt. Then you're going to see AI generate the site.
You're going to refine it with Aria or the editor. You're going to connect a domain, and then you're going to look at publishing and growing your website.
So let's start with the first part. The first step is to go to wix.com/harmony, and you will go to this page and see this window. It will explain how you can get started.
Essentially, this is pretty straightforward. We can all go to a website. We've all done that before.
The next step is to do a design prompt. Wix Harmony is designed so that one prompt can help you launch a business-ready website from the off.
It is designed to remove the bottleneck for small business owners, and to make sure that from one prompt you can get started.
That can include a homepage, your product or service page, lead capture sections, calls to action, booking pages, e-commerce logic and all of that sort of stuff.
In practice, what that looks like is you go to this page, you've got this big box, and then you've got these options underneath as well.
There are a couple of ways to do this. You can just jump straight in and write whatever you want.
You could say: "I would like you to spin me up a website all about Beyonce's latest music tour and tell me how great it is", and all of that sort of stuff. You can write anything you like there.
If that gives you a little bit of nervousness, or you're not sure what to put, then these options underneath are also super useful.
You can click on event landing or community hub, or you can click generate more ideas, and it will give you lots of different ones.
It will add that into the section, and you can adapt it. So you might say: "Create a dynamic and engaging conference event website that provides attendees with essential information", and so on.
It might be that you also want to say it sells merchandise. Or it might be that you want to say that it's particular to Nottingham or London, or maybe it's a dog event instead of a conference event.
But make sure that you're getting in there and editing it. That's the second way that you can do your prompt.
The third way that you can do your prompt is a way that I tend to do.
This is also really useful if you're actively using certain LLMs a lot, like ChatGPT, and they know a lot about your business already.
You can say to the LLM that you're working with: "Write me a prompt for Wix Harmony."
You could explain the audience that you want, explain the features that the website should have, explain the design styles and inspiration that you want, include the goal of the website, include the core keywords for SEO and GEO, and it will write out a really long, detailed prompt that you can pop into the Wix Harmony interface.
Then it will start spinning up your website.
So what does that look like? What happens when you generate the site? You click the button, it goes away, starts whizzing around and starts building your website.
Here's one that I built earlier. I really love kingfishers, so I came up with the idea of a website that was all about kingfishers. That was what the prompt said.
This is what Wix Harmony put out. What it's done is generate the copy. It's put together this section here.
It's done the image as well. It's also created a collection of products that we can potentially sell through a dropshipping tool like Printful, for instance.
It's also spun up lots of other pages as well. For instance, it spun up an avian anatomy canvas, talking about all of that sort of stuff.
So when you are creating your Wix Harmony website, you have a few different options.
It will generate lots of different site elements, not just the homepage, but also page templates, images, copy, forms and brand kit. It will add apps, like certain apps that you need.
For instance, if you asked for a store, it will add in the Wix Stores app. It will also add in some products for that. It will add in some sample blogs so you can see what that looks like.
And this one I really like: the brand kit. For instance, this adds in the colour scheme that you will have for the website. If you want to change this, you can click change it, and it will be in there as well.
Again, all of this stuff is adaptable and editable. You can tell it that you want to change it.
But it means that you're not starting from scratch. You're starting with something that is valuable, useful and something that you can work with.
If it is the case that you're used to a template, you really like templates and you used to use templates all the time, and you just like the security of a template, you can absolutely use the blank box.
But you can also go into Wix templates and find templates there as well. Look for the ones that say Wix Harmony.
We've got loads of different types of templates, and you can adapt these as well. This is one that I had a look at, which was a professional landscaping service.
After you submit the website, whether you're generating it through the box or using a template, you'll get to this page that gives you the web page and also has Aria.
This is your assistant that's going to be helping you. From here, you can see what you can do.
If I wanted to adapt this, then I would get into this box and have a little chat with Aria, and explain that I wanted to adapt it.
So in this case, for instance, I wanted to change it to a carpet cleaning business.
I put in a prompt that was very detailed about how I wanted to change it into a carpet cleaning business, the different services I was going to have and the kinds of images that I wanted.
Then it goes through all of these processes, and you can see the processes.
It goes through creating an engaging homepage, brainstorming compelling headlines, understanding your request and checking your site structure.
It goes through lots of different processes based on all of the many websites that Wix has built over many years. Then it will generate a brief for you.
For instance, when you do that, you end up going from this plant life landscaping website to my carpet website.
You can see that a lot of the elements from the template are there, but it's updated it so that it's more specific to the copy.
This is pretty much a near-shot prompt. I put in my prompt there. I edited the logo. The logo needed editing. But Aria wrote the copy and changed around the images.
It generated this lovely picture of this woman having a delightful time on her new freshly cleaned carpet.
It means that you're able to get started with something in a way that is comfortable to you.
So remember, you can prompt straight from the box, you can create a prompt from one of your other tools, and you can also use a template if you'd like.
Now you've got a website, you need to customise it. You've used your prompt, generated your site, and now you need to refine with Aria and the editor.
With this, I like to think about making sure you're going through your website and checking that it's not too artificial, that it looks appropriate and that it's accurate.
Go through all of the elements and make sure the pictures make sense. Make sure the copy makes sense for what you're doing. Make sure you've got good elements in what you're doing.
Keep doing that throughout your web build so that you have a good product that suits your use. We find that users are doing this very actively.
In our research over recent website builds, we've been seeing users use this to update their prompts. They're saying, "Make the hero full width on desktop. Increase the spacing between sections."
They might say, "My site shows not secure even though I connected a domain. How can I fix that?" So it can help you with technical questions.
"Help, the contact form says it was sent, but I'm not getting emails." Think about how you can do that.
Then also with copywriting, it will generate copy for you. It will generate copy for the whole website as you go through it.
You can ask it to update specific paragraphs. You can ask it to update a whole page as you go along.
For instance, you could say: "Make the tone friendlier but keep it professional." That's something that you can do as well.
In practice, what that looks like is that you would go into this website and add in this information. One of the top things I like to do is add in information.
You can upload copy. If you have a tone of voice document, or if you have the copy that you used to use on your homepage, you can add that into Aria, and it can use that to help support the activity it's doing.
You can upload screenshots. You can add in lots of different things to give it the grounding and the information it needs.
Think about uploading relevant documents to your business. If you have a PDF that's about your business, or if you have a brochure, you can add that.
You can add images from your brand. Make sure you're checking your AI images so they are appropriate and that they match the intent of the page.
Also, think about updating the sections by page.
When you go into Aria, you can click on a particular part of the website, and it will tell you that we're looking at the banner. Then you can talk to it specifically about the banner, rather than having to talk about the whole page.
You can share screenshots for edits you can make, and you can also add more features. This is something that I really like.
And yes, Dave, you're right on cue with your question. You said: will it give you suggestions on what to include?
For instance, I have said: "I would like to generate a section that fits this page." Then it will say: "Here are a few ideas."
It does the same thing when you're adding new pages as well. In this instance, I'm asking for a section. It might ask: "Would you like an about page? Would you like some community programmes? What do you think?"
For this particular one, I said I'd like an about section, and it wrote this. Again, this gives you a good idea of tone. I can go in and fine-tune it to exactly what fits with what we're doing.
But it gives you a good idea of tone, you can give feedback on whether or not that's exactly what you were looking for, and it allows you to get started and not have to deal with that blank page anxiety.
Let's think about using your website as a tool for growth. We've done loads already. We've started refining it, and now we can think about connecting a domain.
Wix is a domain registrar and registers hundreds of domains. We have over 400 top-level domains that you can register your website to.
So if you wanted to register santa.christmas, that's something you can do at wix.com.
You can go to wix.com/domains and register a domain there.
One of the things that's really important is that when you register a custom domain with Wix, you unlock lots of features.
For instance, people who have custom domains on Wix have access to the Wix MCP, which allows you to make edits from Claude, ChatGPT or Perplexity.
You can just say to it: "You know my Wix website, can you make it blue? Can you make it green? Can you add a product?" That sort of thing.
It also builds authority with your audience. It can help you add relevance for keywords. It can reduce hallucinations from LLM responses and can improve discovery.
If you're in the Harmony Builder, then one of the things that's cool is that it will generate domain name recommendations for you.
If you don't like that one, click this little button here and it will generate another one. Then you can go into the section and see all of the ones that are available.
I actually think kingfisherhaven.com is pretty cool. That might be one that would be super useful.
So we connect that domain, and that unlocks different features, particularly for growth.
Let's think about some of that. One of the things mentioned there is SEO, and SEO has to do with your visibility.
This means that you can get into all of these different features once you have that. You can connect it to Google Search Console, Bing, IndexNow and lots of different things there.
With that, it's AI-powered and it will guide you through it. If you've used Wix in the past, you might remember the SEO Wiz.
On Harmony, it's an AI-guided, AI-assisted experience, and it will allow you to optimise with AI.
It will help you create your title tags, meta tags and those things with AI. We have a webinar that goes into all of that in detail.
Also within Harmony, there are lots and lots of different AI tools that will help you grow.
There are AI blogging tools that help you generate schema, generate blogs, generate content for blogs, structured data markup, Google Ads, social captions, product descriptions, video trailers, email generators and lots of different AI tools.
We find that our users get more out of the tools and are able to use more features when they're using AI.
We also have agentic assistance. If you are in the builder, the dashboard of your Wix Harmony website, then you can go to the AI agent section and find AI agents.
One in particular is Cleo. Cleo is a marketing agent that is specifically tasked with helping grow your business.
Then we also have a few other ones. There's Aria, which is the one you know, and then there's also Symphony.
Symphony is new. Symphony launched just this summer, and not only does it work with your Wix website, it can also work with lots of other features. It's designed to help you grow.
Essentially, what you would do is go to Symphony and say: "I would like to set up marketing on my Wix website", for instance, and it would create an agent to help you do that.
Loveday is asking what an AI agent is. We will talk about that in the Wix webinar on the 23rd.
An AI agent is essentially an autonomous AI tool that can make decisions and take actions without you having to prompt it every single time.
So here we are. We've gone through all of this. You've gone to Wix Harmony, put in your design prompt, generated a website, refined it with your editor or with Aria, connected your domain and started to grow.
That means you're going to be able to really get the most out of your AI website builder and all of those features.
If you're able to do that, then I'm sure your business will absolutely fly. With that, I thank you. And now I would like to go to the Q&A.
Ryan: Amazing, Crystal. Thank you so much. That was so interesting.
I love to see everyone in the chat getting involved and asking questions. That was brilliant.
A couple of questions then, Crystal, and thank you for answering those as you went along. We had a few questions around IP.
If someone's using Wix Harmony, who owns the rights to the website? Would that be Wix, or would that be the user?
Crystal: It's your website. The content on the website is your website.
So yes, absolutely. The content on your website is your website, and you can do with it what you like, as long as it's within the guidelines of, you know, be nice out there.
Ryan: Amazing. That's brilliant. Thank you. We had another question coming in.
You stated that the build time for a website has been reduced from 14 to four days. They were asking, is that timescale for a webmaster or a relative newbie?
Crystal: That is across our whole network. We have over 300 million users worldwide, and it was 14 days in 2022, and it's gone down to four days.
I can absolutely attest to that. I said on the thing, global thought leadership. I have my own website. It is a Wix Harmony website. People tell me all the time, "Oh, it looks great."
I built it on Wix Harmony, and it took me way less time than it took me to build the last version of my website.
There are so many different features. As I said, if you activate domain registration via Wix, you unlock lots of features. I can talk to Claude and I can say: "On my website, I want you to add a product."
I have a book, and I literally said, "Add my book as a product", and it just added it.
That's something that's really brilliant, and it means that, for business owners, it's super valuable.
If you've got your list of products and it's just a spreadsheet, you can upload it and say: "Help me upload these. Here are all the pictures. Here are all the details. Help me upload all of these." It's incredible.
Ryan: Amazing. That is brilliant, especially for a lot of people's names probably on this call. You're going to be time-poor or doing things a lot yourself.
That is incredible, isn't it? So helpful.
A question from Jess: if you have an existing Wix website, can you use Wix Harmony?
Crystal: Yes, you can use Wix Harmony. We're currently developing something that makes the migration easier.
Essentially, what we would recommend is that when you migrate with Wix, there are lots of different elements within the back end.
You can migrate your blogs from one blog to the other. You can migrate other features from one site to the other. You can migrate all of your images, and all of your images are still within all of your Wix folders, so that comes over as well.
In terms of the content, you can use AI to pull the copy off and generate it fresh.
If you want to keep the copy, say: "I want to keep this copy. Use this copy." If you want to remix the copy, you can do that as well. It can really help with accelerating that.
We are currently working on something that makes the migration a lot easier, and it also depends on which kind of Wix website you had before.
Ryan: Amazing. That's brilliant. Really helpful. Thank you, Crystal. We'll go with one more question.
If you were launching a new business website today, what would be the first three things that you would focus on?
Crystal: If I was launching a business website today, the first three things I would focus on, first, are what it's for.
I mentioned making sure that your website is a resource. LLMs and people are going to websites not just to look at them, but to use them.
Think about Enterprise Nation. People come to Enterprise Nation to register for webinars, get resources, learn things, sign up for a newsletter and do all that sort of thing.
So think about what it's for. Don't just make it a brochure. Make it something that does something for a specific audience.
That goes to the second one: think about who it's for. Think about who it's targeting, and make sure that is very high in terms of the topic.
In my recommendations for the things you should think about in your prompt, make sure you explain who the audience is.
If the audience is mums, then make sure that you are saying that in the prompt, and make sure that's front of mind when you are building out all of your content.
The other thing I would do is make sure that you are creating content consistently, and that content is optimised for the way search happens now.
I like to think about saying things are fresh and spicy.
So think about content that is fresh, new and the kind of thing that's going to need to be cited by AI, and the kind of thing that people are going to need to go to a website for.
Also, think about the kinds of information where you have an opinion.
If you have a strong opinion about something within your industry, then people want to read that. People want to see that. People go to those websites. So think about that as well.
Ryan: Amazing. I love those. Three really strong points. Thank you, Crystal.
Let's wrap up with one last quick question from Loveday. I want to create a quiz for people to find the best option on the website. Can you do that in Harmony?
Crystal: I think you can do that. I don't have a particular quiz website off the top of my head, but we have so many features.
We also recently launched something called Wix Headless. Wix Headless also works via a prompt. If you wanted to do that, you can go to wix.com/headless and use that.
It essentially uses the same kind of tools. You're still using Aria, you're still using those tools, but you can work with an LLM to help you do some of those more niche creation elements.
Ryan: Amazing. Thank you, Crystal. We just had a lovely comment from Lynn saying, "I'm loving Harmony so far."
There's been some great feedback. People did say thank you, and said it was really great.
That has been fantastic, Crystal. I think we're just on time.
I also put the link in the chat for everyone to look at the other Wix Wednesday events. Hopefully, we'll see you across those soon.
A big thank you to everyone joining for the Wix Wednesdays webinar. The recording and further resources will go out today.
A huge thank you to Crystal for sharing your expertise and practical insights. It has been really useful and really helpful.
Crystal: Thanks to everyone at Enterprise Nation. See you next Wednesday.
Ryan: Thank you. Thanks, everyone. Enjoy your day.
