Brunel University’s London Innovation Voucher Scheme is specifically designed to help organisations access university expertise and promote collaborative innovation between Brunel and SMEs, social enterprises and third-sector organisations based in the UK.

How does it work

  • SMEs, social enterprises and third-sector organisations can apply for vouchers to solve a business problem, develop new products, processes or services
  • The scheme will not fund projects involving basic research. Projects should be for funding at TRL 3 level or above
  • The value of an Innovation Voucher is between £1,000 and £5,000, which covers specific academic/research costs

Applications

Applications must demonstrate the intention to develop a long-term relationship through future collaboration with Brunel. For example, it needs to show the work coming out of the voucher may lead to access to innovation funding through Innovate UK or Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) schemes. London-based SMEs are particularly encouraged to apply.

Interested applicants must first discuss their project idea with a relevant business development manager (BDM) at the university depending on which sector the project best fits.
