Terms & Conditions

1. About the grant

The Enterprise Nation Next Generation Grant is run by Enterprise Nation. One grant of £1,500 is awarded to a young entrepreneur based in the UK. The winner also receives six hours of 1:1 mentoring with an Enterprise Nation adviser.

The grant opens on 16th September and will close at 23:59 on 12th October. All applicants will be updated on their application progress on 15th October and the winner will be announced on 19th October.

2. Eligibility

To apply, you must:

  • Be aged 18–24 at the time of application
  • Be based in the UK
  • Be running or actively developing a business idea — you don't need to be trading yet, but you must have an idea
  • Be willing to share a progress update if you win

There is no requirement to be an existing Enterprise Nation member, but you would be required to create an Enterprise Nation account on applying.

3. How to apply

Applications are submitted via the online form during the open application window. You'll be asked some short questions about your business, how you'd use the grant, and the challenge you're currently facing. We will ask for a video submission from you too. The video is not compulsory but does support your application. Late applications will not be considered.

4. Selection

Applications are reviewed by a panel convened by Enterprise Nation. The panel scores applications on the clarity and ambition of the business idea, the thoughtfulness of how the grant would be used, and the potential impact for the individual. The panel's decision is final. We won't be able to provide individual feedback on unsuccessful applications.

5. The grant

The £1,500 grant is paid directly to the winner by bank transfer following confirmation of acceptance. The grant is unrestricted — you decide how to use it in your business. The grant is not a loan and does not need to be repaid. It may be subject to tax depending on your circumstances; we'd recommend checking with an accountant or HMRC if you're unsure.

6. The mentoring

The winner is matched with an Enterprise Nation adviser based on their sector and stage. Mentoring is delivered as six 1-hour sessions, suggested over a 10-week period, but the exact schedule is agreed between the winner and their adviser. Sessions are conducted online. Enterprise Nation will make reasonable efforts to find a suitable match, but cannot guarantee a specific adviser. The winner will also have the opportunity to attend the monthly, AI, Together session, run by Enterprise Nation.

7. Impact update

As a condition of receiving the grant, the winner agrees to complete a short impact update within 30 days of the grant being paid. This involves answering three questions about how the funds were used and what difference they've made. We'll send you a reminder at 20 days with the form link. Winners who do not complete the update may be ineligible for future Enterprise Nation grants or programmes.

8. Publicity and content

Enterprise Nation will share your story with our community and on our channels (website, social media, newsletter). We will always ask for your permission before publishing anything about you.

9. Data and privacy

Your application information will be used to assess your entry and administer the grant. We will handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at enterprisenation.com. We will not share your personal information with third parties without your consent, except where required by law.

10. General

  • Enterprise Nation reserves the right to withdraw or amend the grant programme at any time.
  • If a winner is found to have provided false or misleading information, Enterprise Nation reserves the right to withdraw the grant and request repayment.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
  • Enterprise Nation's decision on all matters relating to the grant is final.
