Jessica Pilkington is a trained journalist who has secured headlines across the country, in local and national newspapers and magazines. She has worked in public relations for more than 20 years and specialises in supporting the not-for-profit sector as well as SMEs in creative and cultural industries. Before launching Pilkington Communications, Jessica worked, for seven years, as the marketing and fundraising lead for Northamptonshire Community Foundation – the county’s largest grant giving charity. Pivotal to this role was ensuring the communications complemented, reinforced and strengthened the charity’s ambitious donor development objectives. Jessica has been leading training sessions for many years – running bespoke workshops on everything from ‘how to write a press release’ to ‘securing media coverage’ and ‘identifying newsworthy angles’. Jessica’s focus is now exclusively on charities and the not-for-profit sector. She is passionate about and committed to using PR and communications skills to help charities, charitable trusts and social enterprises achieve their objectives – whether these are trustee recruitment, donor development, or simply to stand out from the crowd. In June 2022 she strengthened her commitment to the not-for-profit sector with the launch of Turtle Academy – a new branch of our business which offers coaching, training and strategic support to help charities, social enterprises and all non-profit businesses stand out from the crowd.
