What is your favourite business book and why?
The ONE Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan.
It stresses the importance of the outcome you create over the time and resources you input. Essentially, being effective over being busy.
Who is your business hero and why?
Richard Branson for his ability to have fun while building businesses that grow geometrically and generate serious impact.
So many people take business too seriously, and he reminds me that passion is an important ingredient.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Whenever you start your first business, you have limited resources, limited knowledge, and limited brand recognition.
As things grow, you can count on more of all three of those ingredients, and use them to scale. For me, the biggest challenge has been understanding how to build those three while move up the chain. The lesson made the challenge worthwhile.
What has been your greatest success?
Building a remote business that allows me to support founders worldwide while travelling for extended periods of time, and creating a remote team.
What piece of advice do you wish you had known when starting out?
Make everything customer (or client) centred, and involve your prospects in early research, so you can validate ideas, but also create valuable products and content, and explain it in a way that is easy to resonate with.
Why do you consider long-term strategic advice important to business success?
It is much easier to adjust your course early on and get the results you are looking for, than it is to do so at a later stage, when you have accumulated decisions, resources, liabilities, and baggage from your growth so far.
If you had a superpower what would it be and why?
The ability to access the lessons and experiences of people that are ahead in my journey, both in life and business. Not just theoretically through a book, but also experientially.
